Condensed French onion soup | 1 (10.5 oz) can
Swiss or Gruyère cheese, shredded | 1 cup
Olive oil (or melted butter) | 1 tbsp

Directions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven – Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2️⃣ Prepare Chicken – Pat the chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
3️⃣ Sear (Optional) – Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden, then place in the baking dish.
4️⃣ Add Soup – Pour the French onion soup evenly over the chicken. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
5️⃣ Bake Covered – Bake for 20 minutes.
6️⃣ Add Cheese & Finish – Remove foil, spoon some of the sauce over the chicken, and sprinkle cheese on top. Return to the oven uncovered and bake another 10–15 minutes, until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7️⃣ Rest & Serve – Let the dish rest for about 5 minutes, then spoon the rich onion sauce over each serving.
