Classic 3-Ingredient Wedge Salad
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Iceberg lettuce | 1 small head (1–1½ lbs) |
| Blue cheese dressing | ½ cup |
| Thick-cut bacon | 4 slices, cooked until crisp and crumbled |
Directions
Prepare the Lettuce
Remove any damaged or wilted outer leaves from the lettuce. Trim a thin slice from the stem end while keeping the head intact. Rinse thoroughly under cold water and pat completely dry.
Slice Into Wedges
Place the lettuce core-side down on a cutting board. Cut the head in half from top to bottom, then cut each half in half again to create four wedges. Use two wedges for serving and refrigerate the remaining portions for later use.
Arrange on Plates
Place the wedges on serving plates with the cut side facing upward. Tuck any loose leaves underneath to help support the wedges and add extra crunch.
Add the Dressing
Spoon the blue cheese dressing generously over each wedge, allowing it to coat the surface and drip naturally down the sides. If desired, thin the dressing slightly with a splash of cream or water.
Top with Bacon
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon evenly over the dressed wedges, ensuring every bite gets a combination of crisp bacon and creamy dressing.
Serve Right Away
Serve immediately while the lettuce is cold and crisp and the bacon is still slightly warm. Provide a knife and fork for easy eating.
