Directions
1. Prepare the Cream Sauce
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes, until the mixture is golden and bubbling.
Gradually pour in the warmed milk and heavy cream while whisking continuously. Continue cooking for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Remove from the heat and stir in the salt, pepper, nutmeg, and Parmesan until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
2. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Dish
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. Build the Lasagna
Spread ¾ cup of the cream sauce across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Add a layer of noodles, followed by ⅓ of the chicken, ⅓ of the ham, ⅓ of the Swiss cheese, and ⅓ of the cream sauce.
Repeat these layers two more times, continuing with noodles, chicken, ham, Swiss cheese, and sauce.
Finish with a final layer of noodles, followed by the remaining cream sauce and the mozzarella cheese.
4. Prepare the Crunchy Topping
In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with the melted butter and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the mozzarella.
5. Bake
Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for another 15–20 minutes, until the lasagna is bubbling and the top is golden brown.
6. Rest and Serve
Allow the lasagna to rest for 15–20 minutes before cutting. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
