Baked Hot Dog Burnt Ends

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Cut the hot dogs: Slice each hot dog into pieces about 1 inch thick and place them in a large bowl.
  3. Prepare the sauce: Combine the BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder in a separate bowl. Stir until thoroughly blended.
  4. Coat the pieces: Pour the sauce over the sliced hot dogs and toss until each piece is evenly covered.
  5. Brown the hot dogs: Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the coated hot dog pieces and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they begin to caramelize and develop browned edges.
  6. Bake: Arrange the pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the edges are crisp.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and let the burnt ends rest for a few minutes before serving.
