Four-Ingredient Nougat Bars
Ingredients
- 2 packages miniature marshmallows
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 packages white chocolate chips
- 1½ cups red and green gumdrops
Directions
Step 1: Melt the marshmallows
Place the marshmallows and melted butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 1–2 minutes until the marshmallows expand, then stir until smooth.
Step 2: Melt the chocolate
In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each round until smooth and fully melted.
Step 3: Combine the mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate into the marshmallow mixture and stir until evenly blended. The texture will be thick and sticky.
Step 4: Add the gumdrops
Fold in the gumdrops gently, making sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Step 5: Form the bars
Line a baking dish with parchment paper or foil, leaving extra hanging over the sides. Press the mixture evenly into the dish using a spatula or lightly greased hands.
Step 6: Chill
Place in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours, or until firm.
Step 7: Slice and serve
Use the overhanging paper to lift the nougat out of the pan. Transfer to a cutting board and slice into squares or bars.
Tips & Variations
- Change up the add-ins: Mix in chopped nuts, dried fruit, or extra chocolate chips for added texture and flavor.
- Experiment with chocolate: Use milk or dark chocolate instead of white, or combine different types for a marbled effect.
