Parmesan Crisps

Parmesan Crisps
These delicate, golden Parmesan crisps are an easy homemade snack with plenty of salty, cheesy crunch. They’re inspired by the kind of simple treat that makes an ordinary afternoon feel special, yet they require only a few minutes and minimal effort. When you have shredded Parmesan ready in the refrigerator, you can quickly turn it into a warm, crisp snack without much preparation.
Enjoy them on their own, or serve them alongside marinara, ranch, or guacamole for dipping. They also make a wonderful crunchy addition to soups, chili, and salads instead of traditional croutons. For a party or gathering, place them on a serving board with olives, fresh vegetables, and cured meats for an easy appetizer that looks elegant.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Parmesan cheese | 1 cup (3–4 oz) | Finely shredded |
| Garlic powder | ¼ tsp | Optional |
Directions
1. Heat the oven
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil, keeping the shiny side facing upward. If necessary, lightly coat the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Season the Parmesan
Place the finely shredded Parmesan in a bowl and toss it with the garlic powder until the seasoning is evenly distributed.
3. Shape the crisps
Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture onto the prepared baking sheet for each crisp. Gently spread each portion into a thin circle about 2 inches in diameter, leaving roughly 1 inch of space between them.
4. Bake until golden
Bake for 5–8 minutes, keeping a close eye on the crisps after the 5-minute mark. They’re done when the cheese is bubbling, golden, and lightly browned around the edges.
5. Allow them to cool
Leave the crisps on the foil for 5–10 minutes after removing them from the oven. They will become firmer and crispier as they cool.
6. Serve or store
Carefully peel each crisp away from the foil. Serve immediately, or place them in an airtight container and store for up to 3 days. If they lose some of their crunch, re-crisp them in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 2–3 minutes.
