3-Ingredient Asparagus Roll-Ups

These easy roll-ups are a timeless appetizer that feels a bit fancy without much work. Toasted, golden bread wrapped around tender asparagus and smooth, melted cheese gives a delicious mix of textures and flavors. They’re perfect for brunch spreads, parties, or anytime you need a quick, crowd-friendly bite made from just a few ingredients.
Serve them warm right out of the oven on a lined tray for easy cleanup. They go nicely with fresh fruit, egg dishes, or savory options like quiche. If you’re hosting, slice them into smaller portions and add toothpicks for simple serving.
3-Ingredient Asparagus Roll-Ups
Ingredients
- 24 thin asparagus spears, trimmed
- 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it.
Trim the asparagus ends. If the spears are thick, blanch them briefly (1–2 minutes), then drain and pat dry.
Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread until thin and pliable.
Spread a layer of cream cheese over each slice, going close to the edges.
Place 2–3 asparagus spears along one edge of each slice. Roll up tightly and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Optional: Lightly brush or spray the tops with oil for extra crispness.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the bread is lightly browned and the cheese begins to melt.
Allow to cool slightly before serving. You can serve them whole or cut into smaller, bite-sized pieces.
