5-Ingredient Skillet Pork Chops

Few meals feel as classic and comforting as pork chops cooking in a hot skillet. Simple pan-seared chops have long been a reliable way to turn an everyday ingredient into a hearty homemade dinner with minimal effort. This low-carb version keeps the recipe straightforward with a golden crust, basic seasoning, and a quick garlic finish that adds plenty of flavor without breading or heavy sauces. It’s an easy option for busy weeknights while still feeling satisfying and homemade.

These pork chops work well with many low-carb side dishes. Try serving them with roasted broccoli, sautéed spinach, asparagus, or cauliflower rice for a lighter meal. For something more filling, mashed cauliflower or roasted radishes make great alternatives to potatoes. A crisp salad with a tangy dressing also pairs nicely with the richness of the pork.

5-Ingredient Skillet Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

Directions

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with salt and pepper.

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

Place the pork chops in the pan in a single layer and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until nicely browned.

Lower the heat to medium-low. Push the chops slightly aside and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then spoon the garlic and oil over the pork chops.

Continue cooking for another few minutes, turning if needed, until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 140–145°F (60–63°C).

Transfer the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Spoon the pan juices and garlic over the top and serve warm.
