Creamy Chicken & Swiss Crescent Ring

Cheesy Chicken & Swiss Crescent Bake Ring

This savory crescent ring combines buttery, flaky pastry with a rich and creamy chicken filling for an easy meal everyone will love. The crescent dough bakes into a beautiful golden ring while holding a warm mixture of tender chicken, melted Swiss cheese, and smooth cream cheese inside. Every slice is packed with creamy, cheesy flavor wrapped in crisp, buttery layers.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1½ cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: parsley, egg wash, or seeds for topping

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the filling

Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, stir together the chicken, Swiss cheese, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper until fully combined.

Helpful Tip:
Softened cream cheese blends more evenly and creates a smoother filling.

Step 2: Arrange the crescent dough

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the crescent dough triangles in a circle with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends extending outward like a sunburst.

Helpful Tip:
Keeping the center slightly overlapped helps support the filling while baking.

Step 3: Shape the ring

Spoon the chicken mixture evenly around the center of the dough ring. Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them underneath to create a circular ring shape.

Visual Cue:
The finished ring should resemble a wreath with small openings where the filling is slightly visible.

Step 4: Bake

If desired, brush the dough with egg wash and sprinkle with parsley or seeds. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown.

Visual Cue:
The pastry should look glossy, crisp, and evenly browned around the edges.

Step 5: Cool slightly and serve

Let the crescent ring rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Helpful Tip:
Allowing it to cool briefly helps the melted cheese settle so the slices stay together better when served.
