Pillsbury Crescent Roll Taco Bake

Crescent Roll Taco Ring Bake
This cheesy taco crescent bake is a fun and easy twist on classic taco night. Flaky crescent roll dough forms a golden ring around seasoned taco meat and melted cheddar cheese, creating a hearty dinner that’s perfect for sharing. The open center can be filled with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, and sour cream for a colorful finishing touch.
Ingredients
- 2 tubes crescent roll dough
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- Water (as directed on seasoning packet)
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- Optional toppings: olives, sour cream, salsa
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the taco filling
Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until fully browned. Drain excess grease, then add the taco seasoning and water according to package directions. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
Helpful Tip:
Removing extra grease helps the crescent dough bake up crisp and flaky.
Step 2: Create the dough ring
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the crescent roll triangles in a circular pattern with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward.
Helpful Tip:
A well-overlapped center helps support the filling during baking and slicing.
Step 3: Fill and shape
Spread the taco meat mixture evenly over the inner portion of the dough. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them underneath the center to form a ring.
Visual Cue:
Small sections of the taco filling should still be visible between the dough pieces.
Step 4: Bake
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and deep golden brown.
Visual Cue:
The pastry should look crisp, glossy, and evenly baked all around.
Step 5: Add toppings and serve
Allow the taco ring to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Fill the center with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, olives, salsa, sour cream, or your favorite taco toppings.
Helpful Tip:
Letting the bake rest briefly helps the melted cheese firm up slightly so the slices hold together better.
